Life would be simple if, when searching for information, the answers appeared with merely several keystrokes. Unfortunately, a quick internet search for a Winn Parish arrest warrant search fails to reveal a reliable online source of information. Instead, searchers must navigate various sites in the quest for arrest records, including lists of outstanding warrants and criminal background information.

The Winn Parish Sheriff’s Office, 119 W Main St # 106, Winnfield, LA 71483, has no official website. However, a simple telephone call to the office may provide information on, or directions about obtaining answers to inquiries. Sheriffs often execute warrants, and thus it follows that the Sheriff’s Office may divulge information on any outstanding warrant in Winn Parish.

Winn Parish, LA, covers a little over 950 square miles. Between 15,000 and 16,000 people are living in the parish. The county, or parish, the seat is Winnfield. From the year 2002 through 2007, Winn Parish experienced over 300 crimes, about 10 percent of which were violent crimes. Any law enforcement agency aims to apprehend criminal offenders as soon as possible after committing a crime. The reality is that there are always outstanding arrest warrants. Some are for suspects in unsolved crimes; others pertain to people who fail to appear for court proceedings. The history behind many active warrants is as varied as the motivations for seeking information about arrest warrants.

The Winn Correctional Center is located at 180 CCA Blvd., Atlanta, LA. Like several prisons in Louisiana, the state-owned Winn Correctional Center is privately managed by an outside company. Calling the prison may garner information on arrests and arrest records. The other and the possibly more plausible source is the Winn Parish Sheriff’s Office Jail Roster provided through LAVNS (the Louisiana Automated Victim Notification System – LAVNS).
